MBC's "What Do You Play" will once again present the vocal group project, this time with female vocal group WSG Wannabe. Yoo Jae-Suk has appeared as the new "Buka" Upalbong.
In the 9th day broadcast "What do you do when you play," Yoo Jae-Suk returned as a producer "Yupalbong" and met with the heads of the agency, saying that they would produce WSG Wannabe, a female vocal group.
On this day, Yupalbong visited Antenna, which belongs to 'Bonka' Yoo Jae-Suk, and told Antenna head You Hee-yeol, "We start the WSG Wannabe project. "We will be with three major agencies," he said. "We can not be with a large agency with a huge scale and perfect system. We will be with a place to say, 'Why do you do that with such a company?'" He then asked You Hee-yeol to borrow the company name and attracted attention. You Hee-yeol said, "When I signed with Yoo Jae-Suk last August, I was laughing that there was a rumor that I was changing this company to my name this spring."
Yupalbong emphasized that Yuya had a difference from when he produced MSG Wannabe last year. Not all alone was decided, but Antenna and Jeong Jun-ha's Yamujin +1, and another company would be hosting vocal auditions together. Especially, the situation drama of Yupalbong and You Hee-yeol gave fun. Yoo Jae-Suk's natural acting and dedication, and Tikitaka with You Hee-yeol, caused a laugh until the company borrowed the name.
Last year, the MSG Wannabe project was meaningful in many ways. Park Jae-jung, who had not seen the light for a long time, proved his vocal skills, summoned Kim Jung-min and KCM, who had been wrinkled in the 1990s and 2000s, respectively, and made Ji Seok-jin dream of a singer late. Here, Lee Dong-hwi, Sang-soo, Ssamdi, and Wonstein have created a vocal group that encompasses generations by combining famous actors and singers to MZ generation.
As a result, some stars were summoned to WSG Wannabe to stimulate nostalgia and raise expectations for what good music will be born.
However, some people point out that "what do you do when you play" is a similar format, which raises the topic. In 2020, the mixed group buds, refund expeditions, and last year's MSG Wannabe followed by WSG Wannabe, Yoo Jae-Suk has been making a producer 'Buka' and has been producing the group for several years.
It is different from the 'Infinite Challenge' in the past. 'Infinite Challenge' also opened a song festival every year and continued the 'Totoga' project, but that was not all. When I looked back on the year, I was so aware that there were many special features that came to mind in addition to the song festival.
In the case of 'What do you do', we broadcast MSG Wannabe for 6 months from March to September last year. When I think of 'what to do when I play' last year, there are few memorable turns except MSG Wannabe. The 'Dotope' festival, which was introduced at the end of the year, was also a 'memories' concept based on 'music', not a feature of groundbreaking ideas.
'What do you do when you play' program information says that it is an infinite expansion universe story that Korean comedian Yoo Jae-Suk says, 'What do you do when you play?' So far, 'What do you do when you play' has been deviated from the original planning intention and lost its direction.
Yoo Jae-Suk transformed into a unique 'bucca' heritage slob and challenged as a trot singer, 'What do you do when you play' was popular enough to reproduce the glory of 'Infinite Challenge'. However, Yoo Jae-Suk felt burdened by himself digesting new content alone, and after last year's MSG Wannabe, he recruited Jin Jun-ha, Haha, Shin Bong-sun and the Americas as members to make another change.
Yoo Jae-Suk's solo star, not the five people together, "What do you do when you play" went to the mountains more and more. Currently, "What Do You Play" has no chemistry as many as the "Running Man" members, which have been tuned for more than a decade, and lacks dynamics; it has no distinct identity as the traditional travel pro "One Night and Two Days". "Trying" continues, but it still hasn't caught the viewer.
In the meantime, "feeling" is unfolding, and expectations for a new female vocal group are rising, but I am always sorry for "what do you do when you play" that shows a similar format.
In the meantime, Yoo Jae-Suk led the project with a new 'Buka' and starred alone, and the color of the program seemed rather clear. You Hee-yeol, Jin Jun-ha, and Lee Mi-joo met and laughed at the scene. Jeong Jun-ha, Lee Mi-joo and others are together as supporting actors, adding fun to the picture rather like the real 'what do you do when you play'.
Park Chang-hoon PD is leading the program by taking over Kim Tae-ho's Baton. There are fixed fans that have been going on since 'Infinite Challenge', so TV viewer ratings are not falling significantly. There are only a slight difference depending on the project.
I can understand the fear. It’s good to play a good project and use it as another project. But that’s all. For the continuity of the program, it seems necessary to establish a clear identity of 'what do you do when you play' as soon as possible. Rather than the clumsy 'Infinite Challenge', Yoo Jae-Suk starring 'What do you do when you play' is better.
