'Unlicensed driving and police assault' NO:EL, Warrant application for six days...will it be detained?
Six days after police filed a request for a Warrant against rapper NO:EL (21 and real name Jang Yong-joon), who was accused of assaulting a Super Wings police officer after an unlicensed contact, the prosecution's final decision is drawing attention.
Seoul Seocho Police Station filed a preliminary arrest of NO:EL with the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office on charges of refusing to measure drinking and driving unlicensed, car damage, injury, and obstruction of official execution under the Road Traffic Act.
The prosecution is reportedly coordinating with the suspect's lawyer for the pre-arrest interview to decide whether to claim arrest Warrants.
However, it is known that the interview schedule has not been set for six days, and the public opinion of the netizens is being formed.
The prosecution said, "After the interview is held soon, it will be decided whether to file a claim."
NO:EL, the son of a member of the National Assembly, was driving an unlicensed car on a road in Seocho-gu, Seoul at 10:30 pm on the 18th of last month.
After the Super Wings police demanded a breathalyzer measurement and identification, they were arrested on suspicion of refusing to measure drinking and obstructing the execution of official duties under the Road Traffic Act. However, it was difficult to investigate due to drunkenness, and the day of the incident, the return was taken.
Among them, the police secured a closed-circuit (CC) TV video of the pub that they visited on the day of the accident and investigated the allegations of drunk driving, but the charges were not applied when applying for Warrants. Some of them are also accusing the police of poor initial investigation.
NO:EL attended the Seocho Police Station on the 30th of last month, 12 days after the incident, and returned home early on the 1st after six hours of investigation. At the time, NO:EL left the police station in a silent answer to reporters' questions.
Meanwhile, NO:EL was sentenced to two years in prison for one year and six months in prison for allegedly driving a motorcycle ahead of him in June last year and replacing a driver.
