KBSN apologized for a sports caster saying it was "the worst" for Korean players during the relay of the 2021 World archery Championships.
KBSN said on August 28, "I sincerely apologize to the national team members and viewers for some inappropriate expressions used during the World archery Championship broadcast on KBSN Sports Channel."
"We will do our best to respect the efforts of the players in the future program production and to meet the expectations of the viewers," he added.
On the 27th, KBS Viewer Rights Center posted a petition titled 'Apologize to the men's casters of KBS Sports archery Sesun (World Championship)'.
The petitioner questioned the remarks made by KBSN Sports Lee Ki-ho, a caster, relaying the World Championship Recurve Women's solo exhibition held in Yangkton, South Dakota, USA.
It is pointed out that it was inappropriate to say "Oh what is this" and "worst" when Anshan and Kang Min-hee shot 7 points and 8 points respectively, and that the title or honor of the player was omitted when calling the Korean players.
Cheongwon said, "In the mixed game, Kim Woo-jin and Anshan are described as 'brothers' who lead his brother, not equal players. In the women's solo exhibition, Anshan and Kang Min-hee are quoted as Anshan and Kang Min-hee.
"This is not enough, so I use the phrase 'worst' and 'what is this' for a player who scored seven or eight points. It is not qualified for commentary at all. Please apologize to the players and the displeased viewers. "
In particular, the national team of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games recently asked TVN 'Yu Quiz on the Block' to "shoot 8 points, but even if you shoot 8 points, please give a bright commentary on '8 points'.
The petition received 3,542 consents as of 11 a.m. on the 28th; if more than 1,000 people agree over 30 days, the department's head will respond directly. Since the petition meets the answer criteria, it seems that KBSN Sports has responded to this.
Meanwhile, Anshan won two gold medals and one bronze medal at the 2021 World archery Championships. Kang Min-hee won the women's solo and women's team competitions and won two gold medals.
