Professor Jung Woo-sung Pohang University of Science and Technology, youngest councillor Elected by the Asia-Pacific Association of Physics (AAPPS)

Jung Woo-sung Pohang University of Science and Technology Associated Physics and Professor was elected to the youngest council of Asia-Pacific Ocean Associated Physics Association (AAPPS), one of the three major World Associated Physics associations.Asia and Pacific Ocean AP Physics Association held a regular board meeting in Malaysia on March 17 and elected 16 people including Professor Chung as a new council member to lead the association for three years.AAPPS is a coalition of 18 AP Physics-related conferences in 17 countries in Asia and the Pacific, including Korea, China, Japan and Australia, and is considered the Worlds 3rd AP Physics Association, along with the American AP Physics Association (APS) and the European AP Physics Association (EPS).AP Physics Research and Education and Asia Pacific Cooperation is playing a role.Professor Chung, an authority in the field of complex AP Physics and computational social sciences, received his Ph.D. in AP Physics from KAIST in 2006 and has been a professor of the same department since 2010 after he was a research professor at the Pohang University of Science and Technology AP Physics in 2008.He served as a specialist member of the National Science and Technology Advisory Council and was elected to the Korea Next Generation Science and Technology Academy in January this year.Since 2016, he has been the youngest secretary-general of the AsiaPacific Ocean Theory and Physics Center (APCTP).Meanwhile, Professor Chung plans to act as an assistant editor of AAPPS Bulletin, an academic journal published by AAPPS, starting in January next year.
