SM Entertainment (hereinafter SM) and Hive (HYBE) enjoyed an unprecedented boom, leading the music market even in the COVID-19 fan dermics.
Although the spread of COVID-19 has REDuced concerts and overseas fan meetings, both SM and Hive have found breakthroughs due to record sales. As it is based on solid fandom, the analysis that fans' so-called 'revenge consumption' is leading to the purchase of music is dominant.
It is also worth noting that it is not just a result for domestic fans. According to the Korea Customs Service's tally, overseas music exports exceeded $ 200 million (about KRW 239.6 billion) after the World Tour was suspended, and overseas fans' interest in K-pop has increased significantly, so expectations for the K-pop music market in 2022 are also rising.

SM continued to release albums of group albums, solo and unit groups in the group last year, and communicated with K-pop fans. As a result, the top 100 albums of SM singers were recorded in the top 100 of the year by Gaon Music Chart.

In particular, NCT's performance was outstanding: NCT 127 and NCT Dream (DREAM) sold more than 3 million copies, proving it to be a new weapon for SM. Adding to the album sales of NCT and Lee Jin-hyuktion V, it sold more than 10.91 million copies last year alone. Group EXO and Baekhyun also sold more than a million copies.

Hive labels with BTS as a sign also achieved as much as SM. Big Hit Music, Billy Prab, and Pladis Entertainment all helped the box office with record sales of all-time albums.
According to Gaon Music Chart's annual album charts last year, BTS, The Day After Tomorrow Esporte Clube Bahia Twogether, Enhyphen, NU'EST and Seventeen sold 15.23 million and 1390 albums annually. He has posted 26 albums on the top 100 charts, one more than SM.

The Day After Tomorrow Sportse Clube BahiaTwogether and NU'EST also touted based on fandom.
Hive labels are also expected to play this year. Starting with Enhagement, which released Regular 1 repackage album on the 10th, Fledis Entertainment's Promis Nine has announced a comeback.
