The production team of the MBC documentary 'Cult Hunter' revealed that they have been sued four times ahead of the broadcast.
The production team of the MBC documentary *Cult Hunter* has revealed that a total of four lawsuits have been filed against them ahead of the show's premiere on the 19th. Director Seo Jeong-mun shared the difficulties faced during the production process, including a request for an injunction to ban the broadcast and criminal complaints, via an online community, and urged viewers to watch the program.
This documentary covers the life and death of Director Tak Myeong-hwan, a religious researcher who was murdered in 1994 while tracking the reality of cults. Director Tak is known to be the real-life model for the character Pastor Park, played by Lee Jung-jae in the movie *Sabaha*.
The production team stated that they have uncovered new facts related to Director Tak's murder case for the first time in 32 years. The lawsuits are reportedly filed by the murderer, the church involved, the son of the pastor who founded the church, and the U.S. branch.
Director Seo Jeong-mun confessed that there were moments during the investigation when he felt so afraid that he even felt threatened by his own family. He conveyed that he truly felt the emotions Director Tak Myeong-hwan must have experienced while fighting against cults throughout his life.
'Cult Hunter' will be broadcast as a two-part series on MBC on the 19th and 26th at 9 PM. On Wavve, a five-part extended version is scheduled to be released starting at 11 AM on the 19th.
