'Back to the Future' protagonist, Megan Parkinson's disease battling disease for 30 years "I'm not afraid of Death"
Actor Michael J. Fox, 62, who was much loved for his film Back to the Future, said he has been suffering from Megan Parkinson's disease for 30 years but is not afraid of Death. He was diagnosed with Megan Parkinson's disease at the age of 29 in 1991 and has been battling disease ever since. In an interview with Town & Country recently, he said, "One day we will run out of fuel. One day I'll allow that to happen, I'm 62," he said, accepting Death when the time comes. "Of course it would be premature if I left the world tomorrow, but it would not be unprecedented," he said. "I am not afraid of it." The Hollywood legend mentioned the safety of his wife Tracy Pollan and their four children just for scaring him. Meanwhile, he reported on battling disease in 1998 and has been committed to finding a cure through the Foundation. He retired from acting in 2020 due to symptoms including tremors, movement difficulties, coordination and muscle stiffness. Earlier this year, he spoke candidly about the painful reality of living with the disorder in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning. "Life with Megan Parkinson's disease is getting harder and harder every day," he said. "I'm going to die of Megan Parkinson's disease, so I've always thought about Death. "I'm not going to be 80 years old," he said. Michael J. Fox Instagram
