The group BTS has topped Japan's major music charts, following United States of America and the United Kingdom.
On the 17th, the Japanese Oricon chart reported on its official website that "BTS' new album, Map of the Sol: Persona (MAP OF THE SOUL: Persona), ranked # 1 in the digital album rankings on April 22, the first week of sales in Japan."
“This album topped the charts and ranked #1 in the digital album rankings on September 17 last year, ranking #4 in the charts, following Love Yourself No. 1 Answer (LOVE YOURSELF Answer), which is the number one record in the digital album charts ever,” the Japanese Oricon chart said.
Earlier on the 15th (local time), the U.S. Billboardss and British Official Chart reported that the new Al of the Sol: Persona, which was released simultaneously by BTS on the 12th, will be ranked # 1 on the Billboardss 200 and the Official Albums Chart.
Billboardss said, "When this album reaches the top spot, the BTS will be the third to record the number one spot after Love Yourself's Tier (LOVE YOURSELF Tear) and Love Your Self's Ancer."
The British official chart reported that "the sales volume of the album of the Map of the Sol: Persona has already exceeded the sum of the first week sales of the last three albums, including the Love Yourself former "Tier" which entered the top 10 last year.
As a result, BTS is making a new history as a glCity of Londonal artist, winning the top of the album charts that lead the major music markets around World, not only in United States of America and the United Kingdom but also in Japan.
