Jinyoung, Lee Byung-hun, Jung Woo-sung, and Hyun Bin followed by Gwangju Biennale Ambassadors
Singer and actor Jinyoung has been commissioned to 2018Gwangju Biennale Ambassadors. Gwangju Biennale is a world-renowned contemporary art festival representing Asia and is held once every two years. Top stars representing Korea, including Hyun Bin in 2016, Jung Woo-sung in 2014, Lee Byung-hun and Lim Soo-jung in 2012, have been active as Ambassadors.
Jinyoung is attracting great attention as an all-around artist who will lead the next generation Korean Wave. In the field of music, he has been recognized as a talented singer-songwriter and music producer by composing 40 songs, the most among domestic idol singers such as 'What is this?', 'Lonely (No)', 'SOLO DAY' and 'Rollin'. In the field of acting, he has been well received for winning the 2016 KBS Acting Award for Best New Artist in the drama 'Gurmigreen Moonlight'. Recently, he won the Grand Prize in the Men's Smoke Stone category at the 2018 Brand of the Year, and is about to release the movie "The Man in My". This versatile aspect of crossing the boundary is well suited to the purpose of this Gwangju Biennale on the theme of "Imagined Borders".
The fact that Jinyoung's fan base is widely distributed in each country of Asia is also an evaluation of Ambassadors of Gwangju Biennale, an art festival representing Asia. Looking at the national classification of 1.37 million Instagram followers of Jinyoung, fans are distributed in Asia, including Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand, mainly in Korea. Jinyoung's fan meeting held in Tokyo in January sold out all 3,000 seats, and the fan meeting scheduled to be held in Seoul on September 9 was sold out in one minute after the opening of the reservation.
Jinyoung said, "It is an honor to take charge of Ambassadors of Gwangju Biennale, which is held in the past," he said. "I will try to inform Gwangju Biennale both at home and abroad so that many people can find the scene." Link Eight Entertainment, a subsidiary company, plans to follow Gwangju Biennale social media and hashtag campaigns with Jinyoung.
