Justice Lee Hye-Yeong was behind the death of Lee Joon-gi's mother.
In the second episode of TVN's weekend drama Lawless Lawyer, which aired on May 13, the reason why Bong Sang-pil (Lee Joon-gi) watched Cha Moon-sook (Lee Hye-Yeong) was revealed.
Bong Sang-pil returned to his hometown to catch Woo Hyung-man (Lee Dae-yeon), who caused his mother, Choi Jin-ae (Shin Eun-jung), to die, and tried to take charge of Woo Hyung-man, who was arrested on charges of killing the established mayor. Woo Hyung-man could not remember Bong Sang-pil at all, and Bong Sang-pil also hired Ha Jae-yi (Seo Ye-ji), who had just been suspended as a lawyer, as my secretary.
Woo Hyung-man's lawyer was Ko In-du (played by Jeon Jin-gi), but Bong Sang-pil felt that Woo Hyung-man would be distrusting Ko In-du, and Ha Jae-yi was gradually interested in the case. When Ha Jae-yi asked why he wanted to take the case from Ko In-doo, Bong Sang-pil said it would help promote the case. Ha Jae-yi met Judge Cha Moon-sook, half-doubtedly asking about Bong Sang-pil.
Ha Jae-yi admired Judge Cha Moon-sook and sometimes called him "Mom." But Nam Soon-ja (Yum Hye-ran), a close associate of Cha Moon-sook, ignored him openly. Nam Soon-ja was a mother of Ha Jae-i's high school alumni Kang Yeon-hee (Cha Jung-won), who confronted Ha Jae-yi while slapping the teacher on the grounds that she gave her daughter's performance evaluation score during high school. Ha Jae-yi also continued to have conflicts with Kang Yeon-hui, who is now a prosecutor.
Cha Moon-sook received media attention once again through volunteer activities, but turned 180 degrees in front of An-oh-ju. Cha Moon-sook promised to push An-oh to the next established market, and An-oh-joo kneeled down as if he had already become a market and bowed, "It's a glory." In addition, Cha Moon-sook kicked a goinhead who is roughly proceeding with the trial of Woo Hyung-man and said, "What if you change your lawyer?"
As Cha Moon-sook's concern, Woo Hyung-man changed his lawyer even after he was threatened with murder. Bong Sang-pil revealed that he was the son of Shin Yi Choi Jin-ae and promised to take him out alive, and Woo Hyung-man trusted Bong Sang-pil's grudge to tell the truth and left the case to Bong Sang-pil. However, just before the trial, Ha Jae-yi was kidnapped by Seokgwan-dong (Choi Dae-hoon).
Seokgwan-dong, who had a grudge against Bong Sang-pil, misunderstood Ha Jae-yi as a lover. Bong Sang-pil asked Tae Kwangsoo (Kim Byung-hee) to "make sure that the trial is not going until I come," and went to rescue Ha Jae-yi, and Tae Kwangsoo caused a disturbance in the courtroom and took time. Bong Sang-pil saved Ha Jae-yi and headed to the court, and Ha Jae-yi thanked him when Bong Sang-pil ran for him.
On the way, Bong Sang-pil and Ha Jae-yi's past relationship were drawn. In the past, Bong Sang-pil was able to escape from the crisis of death with his mother, Choi Jin-ae. Bong Sang-pil knew that and approached Ha Jae-yi intentionally. Bong Sang-pil told Ha Jae-yi meaningfully, "This fight will be our fight soon."
