The Supreme Court of South Korea is awaiting a ruling on the appeal filed by the son and former daughter-in-law of Hong Seo-beom and Little purse Bible regarding the dissolution of their common-law marriage.
The lawsuit filed by former daughter-in-law A against Mr. B, the son of Hong Seo-beom and Little purse Bible, seeking damages for the dissolution of their de facto marriage, has been referred to the Supreme Court of South Korea. Dissatisfied with the appellate court's ruling, A filed an appeal to the Supreme Court on the 9th.
Previously, the first-instance court acknowledged Mr. B's liability and ordered him to pay A 30 million won in consolation money and 800,000 won per month in child support; however, A appealed, claiming the amount was insufficient. Nevertheless, the second-instance court upheld the first-instance ruling.
A filed the lawsuit claiming that although she began dating Mr. B in 2021 and married him in February 2024, their de facto marriage broke down a month later due to Mr. B's infidelity. Even after the appellate court ruling, A continued to express her difficulties, citing the issue of unpaid child support.
Hong Seo-beom and Little purse Bible apologized for causing public concern regarding their son's private life issues and expressed remorse for failing to look after their child's faults as parents.
