Country singer and actor Naomi Jude has died after a long battle with mental illness: aged 76.

Naomi's daughters Ashley Young Jude and Winona Jude did not disclose their official position in this regard.
Earlier, they said: "Today our sisters experienced tragedy: we lost our beautiful mother to mental illness, our family was shattered. We are going through deep grief, and we know that she has been loved by the public, as we have loved her," the statement read.
Her husband Larry Strickland, who was married to Naomi for 32 years, added a statement that "the bereaved family demands privacy during this heartbreaking time; no further information will be released."
Naomi's daughters burst into tears as they inducted their late mother into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Naomi had been candid about her mental health issues during her lifetime, when he confessed in an interview with "Good Morning America" in 2016 that he was suffering from extreme depression.
Also in his 2016 book "The River of Time: How My Falling and Hopes for Depression" he expressed regret for telling himself that he seriously considered taking his own life on a bridge near his farm.
