The craze of 'K-drama', which captivated former World, continued this year. Following last year's hotly-fever Netflix original series "Squid Game" (played by Hwang Dong-hyuk) and "All of Us Are Dead" (played by Cheon Sung-il, directed by Lee Jae-Gyu and Kim Nam-soo), the former World was completely fascinated by "K-drama".
According to Flix Patrol, a global online content service ranking site on the 6th (Korea time), "Our School Now" ranked first in the box office for eight consecutive days in the "Netflix Today's All World Top 10 TV Program (Show) category on the 5th. All of Us Are Dead, which ranked first in 53 countries including Korea, France, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan, achieved its first record in United States of America on the 4th.
'All of Us Are Dead', based on the popular webtoon of the author, depicts the story of students who are isolated from the school where the zombie virus started and fighting together to survive the rescue. Park Ji-hoo, Yoon Chan-young, Jo Hyun, Romon, Yoo In-soo, Yu Mi, Ham Sung-min, Lim Jae-hyuk, Kim Jin-young, Son Sang-yeon, Ahn Seung-gyun, Kim Bo-yoon, Ha Seung-ri, Lee Eun-sam, Jin Ho Eun, Yang Han-yeol, Oh Hye-soo and An Ji-ho. Lee Jae-Gyu PD of Beethoven Virus and The King of Hearts directed it.
All of Us Are Dead, which was unveiled on Netflix on the 28th of last month, was a well-made 'K-drama' connecting 'Squid Game' released last year and collected many topics. The World of 'All of Us Are Dead' began after 'Squid Game', which kept the World No. 1 for 53 days, and 'Hell' (played by Yeon Sang-ho and Choi Kyu-seok, directed by Yeon Sang-ho) for 11 days.
As the popularity of 'All of Us Are Dead' proved, the praise of foreign media continued. United States of America Media Deadline has praised the former World popularity for 'All of Us Are Dead' following 'Squid Game' as "one-two punches of Korean drama".
In particular, Deadline said, "The one-two punch of 'Squid Game' and 'All of Us Are Dead' is not unusual. Netflix's ratings for the Korean dramas in United States of America have amplified by more than 200% from 2019 to 2021. "Korea has become the first country to succeed in several non-English dramas in Netflix's United States of America's top 10 rankings."
Not only Deadline but also another foreign screenrant noted that "Korea has a huge power in entertainment."
