Director Bong Joon-ho won the Director of the Year award for parasites. Actor Kang-Ho Song Han Ji-min won the Actor of the Year award at the 19th Director's Cut Awards.
The 19th Director's Cut Awards were held at Hyundai Card Stage at 7 pm on December 12. Director's Cut Awards, which started in 1998 and celebrated its 19th anniversary this year, is a film awards ceremony hosted by directors of the Korea Film Directors' Association and awarded direct winners.
This year, directors from the Korea Film Directors' Association voted for the feature films released from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019. It was awarded eight awards in four categories: Director of the Year, New Director of the Year, Vision of the Year, Screenplay of the Year, and four Actors (Boy Actor of the Year, Female Actor of the Year, New Male Actor of the Year, and New Female Actor of the Year).
This year’s screenplay was won by “parasite” Bong Joon-ho Han Jin-won, who was awarded the Vision of the Year award by “Hummingbird” director Kim Bo-ra. This year's new actress award was won by Hummingbird Park Ji Hu, and the new male actor of the year was won by Parasite Park Myung-hoon. This year's Rookie of the Year award was awarded by Kim Bo-ra, director of Hummingbird.
This year's female actor award was selected by Han Ji-min of Mitsubak, and the male actor of the year was selected as the head of the parasite Kang-Ho Song.
Han Ji-min said, "I met Mitsubak in the winter of 2016, but it is already winter 2019. During that time, I was experiencing various emotions with various works, and I am grateful for the time spent in such a meaningful prize at the last moment. "
Kang-Ho Song, who is working with director Bong Joon-ho on overseas schedules, said in a video, "Thank you for giving me a very meaningful award, and I think that Actors, who have a lot of movies called parasites, have made a good teamwork with ensembles. I think I’m giving the team a prize rather than a personal one. Thank you to our juniors for showing great Acting.”
This year's director award was awarded by Parasite Bong Joon-ho. Director Bong Joon-ho also said, "I received the Best New Director award almost 20 years ago, and I am glad to receive the Best Director award today. There are many coaches there, and I hope it will be a place to bless their future. "
Parasites, which continue to win awards at home and abroad, won four awards, receiving the new male actor of the year, the male actor of the year, the screenplay of the year, and the director of the year. Hummingbird also won three awards for the new actress of the year, the vision of the year, and the new director of the year.
