Super Junior Choi Choi Siwon commissioned as UNICEF East Asia Pacific Ocean regional goodwill ambassador
Choi Choi Siwon was appointed at the Lao Generation 2030 Forum (Laos Generation 2030 Forum) to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the UNChild Rights Convention held in Laos Vientiane on the 11th. Choi Siwon was the first Korean artist to become a goodwill ambassador to the East Asia Pacific Ocean region of UNICEF, and Choi Siwon was recognized for his high popularity and influence in the East Asia Pacific Ocean region as well as his authenticity in promoting Child rights since 2010.
Choi Siwon said, “I am very pleased to be appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the East Asia Pacific Ocean region. In the meantime, I felt a sense of mission by visiting various countries and having a special experience of meeting Children and their families directly. I will do my best to help Children in the East Asia Pacific Ocean area in the future. "
Choi Siwon, who has participated in various UNICEF campaigns since 2010 through steady talent donations, was selected as a special representative of the UNICEF Korea Committee in November 2015. Even during the busy schedule, I have visited UNICEF offices in East Asia Pacific Ocean countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam as well as Korea, and have been enthusiastically promoting Child rights. Last year, he attended the opening ceremony of the 5th ASEAN Children's Forum (ACF) as a keynote speaker, appealed for interest in Child Human Rights, led discussions at discussion sessions of delegations from 10 SouthEast Asian countries, and also appeared on the Thailand local fundraising show The Blue Carpet Show, where he took the lead for Child Rights, winning more than $500,000 in fundraising.
Choi Siwon will continue to work as a goodwill ambassador to the UNICEF East Asia Pacific Ocean region, focusing on protecting Children in the online environment, and working for Children's rights such as health, education and equality.
