Big Hit Entertainment CEO Bang Si-Hyuk (47) was selected as the New Power Generation by United States of America Billboard.
The United States of America Billboard selected 25 next-generation leaders leading the World music market, including Bang Si-Hyuk, in an article titled “New Power Generation: 25 Top Innovators” on the 7th (local time).
Billboard said, "BTS, formed by composer and producer Bang Si-Hyuk, emerged in Western popular music last year." "I was ranked # 10 on the first Billboard 'Hot 100' with 'Fake Love' (FAKE LOVE) and # 111 on 'Social 50'."
Billboard also explained to BTS that "two albums were the first Korean artist to win the Billboard 200, and sold out the first stadium show at United States of America in an hour."
"We have not set up a special strategy to make it a World pop group," said Bang Si-Hyuk, CEO of Billboard. "We work horizontally with BTS. “I promised the members that their music should come from their inner story.”
On the same day, the United States of America Grammy Awards announced on its website and SNS that BTS will attend the 61st Grammy Awards this year, which will be held at the United States of America Los Angeles Staples Center on October 10. It is the first time a Korean singer has ever been on this stage.
They will also be presented as awards winners along with previous Grammy Awards winners Alicia Keys, John Mayer and Meghan TLayner, and will also attend red carpet events before the awards ceremony.
Although BTS did not get a direct nomination, Husky Fox, the company that designed their regular third album, Love Yourself Former Tear, was nominated for the Best Recording Package category.
This category is given to the art director of an album that reflects music and has beautiful design. It is also the first time that a staff member has been nominated as a domestic popular music album.
