Bloomberg published the Bloomberg 50 article on its official website on the 6th (local time). The list includes BTS, Jerome Powell, chairman of the United States of America Federal Reserve Committee, Royal Dutch Shell CEO Ben Van Beauarden, Donna Strickland and Taylor Swift, who won the 2018 Nobel Prize in Physics.
BTS was the first Korean Singer to be selected and is the only Korean on the list announced this year.
“In 2018, we selected a person who made remarkable achievements in business, entertainment, finance, politics, technology and science, and published it in the second Bloomberg 50 this year,” Bloomberg said.
"BTS selected the Billboards album chart first place in June with LOVE yourself 'Tear' It is the first K-pop band to be on the chart, and once again charts with LOVE yourself 'Answer' in August "We have achieved unprecedented success in United States of America."
“The great popularity of BTS is due to the fact that, despite the genres that the younger generation likes, they have been willing to talk about social issues, mental health and politics,” Bloomberg reported. “BTS’s first World Stadium tour ticket sold out in a matter of minutes, which is another sign that audiences around the world are ready to accept a band with Korea’s sensibility,” he added.
The Bloomberg 50, which was announced on the day, will also be published through Bloomberg Business Week, a Bloomberg weekly magazine.
Meanwhile, BTS will hold a LOVE yourself Asia tour at Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium in Taiwan on the 8th and 9th.
