BTS member V's solo songs are the only ones in the top 10, with BTS occupying 15 songs on the United States of America Billboards World Digital Song Sales chart from the beginning of the new year.
Two songs, Stigma and Singularity, ranked 9th and 10th, respectively. This is a big achievement after Fake Love, Idol, and Mike Drop, which are the second place on this chart, and Idol, the sixth place.
What is even more surprising is that Stigma has been on the chart for more than two years. Stigma is a solo song that was recorded in the BTS' second album, Wings (WINGS), released in October 2016, and V himself participated as a lyricist and composer. It is famous for its ability to produce and to express various ranges of music with rich sensitivity with heavy vocals.
The two songs were the number one chart in countries including Argentina, Peru and Romania on iTunes at the end of last year, with 39 Worlds for Stigma, 25 countries for Singularity, and World iTunes charts. In addition, it topped the iTunes K-pop chart in 2018.
In particular, Singularity set a milestone in the biggest streaming service, Sporty, called A Year Ago in Winter Solo.
Singularity, a solo song by BTS V on the album LOVE YOURSELF Tear released on May 7, 2018, ranked 13th among the most streamed songs of 2018 K-pop songs on Sporty. This is the seventh place among BTS songs and the highest ranking of 'Singularity' among solo songs, setting a record of 48.74 million times as of the last 7 days.
BTS V's solo song 'Singularity' was introduced as a K-pop song in Korean from the British airwave Radio along with the A Year Ago in Winter year, and it was the only solo song with BTS song.
The 'Singularity' was selected by A Year Ago in Winter in December by the United States of America New York Times Square and the British Guardian in turn as the 'Best Song of 2018', and it was the fourth of the '2018 Song of the Year' selected by LATimes Square and was praised as the most attractive song among BTS songs with the mention of 'must listen'.
