JYP released a speech by J. Y. Park, who was in charge of the keynote section at the 2018 Macquarie Emerging Industries Summit organized by Macquarie Securities on the 21st.
According to the report, J. Y. Park said in the speech that he had reorganized to speed up Content development.
"Until last year, the company has separated all departments, including marketing, PR, management, and A & R, according to their work. However, as the company grew in size in 2015 or 16, the process of producing Content was not quicker than the growth rate of The Artist or the company. "
"So I did one experiment two years ago. Baro has created a dedicated TF team for only one The Artist. "He has all the marketing, PR and management fields in this team, so that all the tasks are done in this team. The team that was born like this is Baro TWICE," he said.
“The results of the first experiment were enormous. The work was faster and more efficient. The communication between the person in charge and The Artist was much smoother. So the conclusion is that we will build four small companies in this one company, and in the future JYP will be a company that combines four labels. "
J. Y. Park talked about K-pop's past and present, and 'internationalization through localization', and also announced plans to launch a new idol group.
"The first stage of K-pop was to export Korea Content overseas, and the second stage was to find overseas talent and mix it with the Korean The Artists, and the next stage is to nurture and produce talent directly from abroad," he said.
In the meantime, JYP's first project was introduced as a six-member China idol group boy story with an average age of 13 years. He went to the China small city for two months to find a member directly, and the selected members announced that they took the top spot on the China QQ music video chart after JYP's training.
"We are preparing a girl group consisting of Japanese members. We can see it as TWICE consisting of Japanese members. It will debut at the end of next year or early 2020. "
JYP also talked about the new building. In the last 17 years, he moved his office from Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul to Seongnae-dong, Gangdong-gu.
J. Y. Park explained, "As the speed of making Content accelerated, more Content was produced, but there could be side effects of poor quality, so we had to find a way to maintain it."
"The new building has nine dance studios, 18 vocal practice rooms, seven production rooms, 11 recording rooms, and two mixing rooms." The nine dance rooms are enough to teach and nurture trainees. In the production room on the eighth floor, eight producers, including me, can work on the same floor, expecting the best results in both Content and quality. " I said.
In addition, for the healthy lifestyle of the members, organic restaurants are on the top floor of the new building, organic cafes are on the first floor, and mental care is also provided through professional psychological counselors.
Regarding the issue related to the amendment of the Labor Standards Act, "We are currently trying to enforce new laws in Korea. "The JYP should be implemented in January 2020 with the law that all workers' weekly working hours should be less than 52 hours," he said. "We are ready to increase the number of employees to meet the standards set by the government. At the same time, we will build an efficient system so that employees will work less than 52 hours a week. "
