Actor Gong Hyung-jin is returning to the stage after 14 years, overcoming recent controversies.
According to reports on the 26th, Gong Hyung-jin has been cast in the comedy play *Pink Truck*, based on the original work by Director Jang Hang-jun.
*Pink Truck* is a human comedy based on the original work by Director Jang Hang-jun, who directed the film *The Man Who Lives with King*, which attracted approximately 16.93 million viewers.
An encore run will be held at the Starlit Hall in Daehak-ro from November 27 to March 1, 2027. During its initial run, the production was a box office success, selling out for a month. Buoyed by this positive response, an encore performance has been confirmed just six months later.
*Pink Truck* depicts the chaotic adventures of three men who have hit rock bottom due to a fraud case and are chasing down the swindlers in a truck selling adult products.
It humorously portrays the process of finding human solidarity and hope amidst the bitterness of reality. The charm of the work lies in Director Jang Hang-jun's signature witty dialogue, unpredictable plot developments, and the humor arising from the relationships between the characters.

Above all, attention is focused on his return to the stage, especially given that he was recently embroiled in controversy regarding his words and actions toward junior actress Cha Ji-yeon.
On the 17th, Gong Hyung-jin appeared as an intermission MC at the Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) 70th Anniversary Homecoming Day commemorative concert held at Hanyang University in Seoul. At the time, when Cha Ji-yeon finished singing on stage and bowed 90 degrees to him saying, "Hello, Senior," Gong Hyung-jin demanded a second greeting, stating, "Since you are my senior, greet me again."
He faced criticism for displaying a disrespectful attitude toward a junior in an official setting by using informal titles such as "hey," "you," and "you" when addressing Cha Ji-yeon.
As the controversy spread, Gong Hyung-jin's side explained that he had spoken to Cha Ji-yeon, a junior with whom he is close, with the intention of encouraging her to relax and feel at ease, adding that there was no intention to embarrass or offend her.
He bowed his head and stated, "We have already expressed our apologies to Cha Ji-yeon's side, and we apologize once again to everyone who felt offended," promising to be more careful in his future public speech and conduct.
Attention is focused on whether Gong Hyung-jin, returning to the theater stage after being embroiled in controversy over his behavior toward a junior, can prove his presence through his acting skills and elicit a positive response.
