"Didn't call once all year": Joo Sang-wook's Mother publicly takes aim at her indifferent son in front of Cha Ye-ryun
Joo Sang-wook's mother revealed her special affection for her daughter-in-law, Cha Ye-ryun, while exposing her taciturn son who doesn't contact her even once throughout the year.
On the 22nd, a video titled "X Joo Sang-wook Forbidden X Date at Yangjaecheon with Mother-in-law Secretly from Husband" was released on the YouTube channel "Cha Jang-geum Cha Ye-ryun." In the video, Cha Ye-ryun enjoyed a date with her mother-in-law alone.
On this day, Cha Ye-ryun's mother-in-law opened the conversation about her son, Joo Sang-wook, by saying, "When I meet my son, we drink alcohol." In response, Cha Ye-ryun confessed, "We drink and fight all the time. There is no reason. As soon as we see each other's faces, we have to fight at least once. I was surprised at first."
The mother-in-law said, "From what I've heard from others, not all sons are close with their mothers." To this, Cha Ye-ryun stated, "There are families where they are close, but I actually like that my brother isn't too filial. It makes me want to treat him better."
** Upon hearing this, the mother-in-law revealed, "I'm glad he knows I'm not a filial son," adding, "He never calls once throughout the 365 days of the year. He never contacts me to ask if I'm doing well, dead, or alive."
Cha Ye-ryun stated, "Since my husband doesn't treat his mother well, I end up calling her more," explaining that she is taking good care of her mother-in-law on behalf of her husband, Joo Sang-wook.
She recounted that even when Joo Sang-wook finally calls his mother after being pressured by Cha Ye-ryun, he goes a step further by claiming he is sick himself, rather than empathizing with her pain. The mother-in-law brought laughter by saying, "I can't tell him where I'm sick. I tell him I'm sick too. It's a face I wouldn't want to see again if he weren't my own child. But since he is my child, I see him anyway."
The mother-in-law also expressed her affection for her daughter-in-law, Cha Ye-ryun, saying that her son made a good marriage. He recoiled in disgust, saying, "I say it all the time. If I hadn't met Yeryeon, it goes without saying that my unmarried son living by my side would have been a headache." He continued, "I praised Yeryeon, saying that I called her 'the pillar of our house.'"
