Previously, the Lee Dong-gook family had been embroiled in a noise disturbance controversy after posting a video on social media showing their children shouting loudly and running around the house while watching a World Cup match. Criticism from netizens followed after it became apparent that the parents had failed to properly restrain the children’s behavior in the video.
As the controversy spread, Lee Soo-jin apologized for failing to be considerate of her neighbors late at night and promised to prevent such incidents from happening again. Lee Dong-gook and Lee Soo-jin married in 2005 and have four daughters and one son; they are well-known to the public for their past appearances on the KBS 2TV show “The Return of Superman.”
