Her agency, JY Star, stated that Shin Ji, as a fan of the Hanwha Eagles, declined the offer because she felt it would be disrespectful to her fans to throw the first pitch at a home game of the rival team, the KT Wiz; however, misunderstandings arose during this process, leading to the cancellation of the performance as well.
