Yoon Nam-no, 'Dongnangbap' eats 'Dongnangbap' and opens shop with 6 billion in debt...blood tears 'self-employment atrocity'
Chef Yoon Nam-no, known as the "Black and White Chef," unveils his first store, which he invested his blood, sweat, tears, and 600 million won in debt into.
On the upcoming episode of MBC's entertainment program "Omniscient Point of View," which airs on the 6th, the chef's ups and downs as he prepares to open his new store will be broadcast on the airwaves.
In the episode, Chef Yoon shows off his overwhelmingly large kitchen, where he has focused all of his funds on cooking facilities and equipment, much to the admiration of the contestants and junior chefs.
His kitchen is equipped with high-end oven appliances worth tens of millions of won, as well as a huge cold storage (walk-in) facility that can only be found in large banquet halls. What's more, the kitchen's set of utensils, plates, and glasses alone is worth over 30 million won, which is a huge investment.
However, the price of creating a "dream kitchen" is harsh. Yoon Nam-no candidly confesses to the financial pressure and mental fatigue of having to pay tens of millions of won for rent and equipment every month.
In particular, he confesses that he has been "borrowing money from close industry colleagues" due to his shallow financial condition, and will wittily introduce the 'Dongnangbap Map', a high-quality meal procurement route that he perfected through his own experience, to provide salty fun.
Another key viewing point is the staff meal menu, which was completely revamped shortly after he became an employer. In the past, he was known for his lavish staff meals with the finest ingredients such as abalone, beef, Spanish mackerel, and scallops, but after becoming president, he became a down-to-earth leader who carefully took out 10 bags of ramen noodles and boiled them while checking the mood of his employees.
He doesn't even have chopsticks to eat the food, so he has to use a western-style fork to pick up the noodles, creating a laugh-out-loud scene.
The recipe for the special jjampong ramen, which contains the real-life struggles and secrets of a novice business owner behind the fancy chef's appearance, can be seen on "Omniscient Point of View" on March 6 at 11:10 p.m.
