Park Jeong-soo, stocks and ruined "I bought Samjeon 80,000 won and made 500,000 won in profit, I'll make a few billion" (Wengen)
Park Jung-soo revealed his failed stock investment story.
On June 3, actor Park Jung-soo's YouTube channel, "You Can't Stop Jung-soo," posted a video titled, "I fought with Johnny while talking about retirement investment. The real investment secret for 30 years after retirement!
In the video, Park Jung-soo meets John Lee, an investment expert, and receives his investment secrets.
On this day, Park Jung-soo was listening to a lecture on stocks and said, "I was ruined by stocks in the past."
"At that time, I thought, 'I'll never do it again. But nowadays, if you don't invest in stocks, you're not a person these days." "I'm embarrassed to say this, but four years ago, I bought a few thousand shares of Samsung Electronics for 80,000 won. But Samsung Electronics went down to 59,000 won. It's been in the 50,000 to 60,000 won range for two or three years. That was the biggest stock I bought, so I was nervous as hell. I think it was three years ago. It went up little by little, so I said I'll sell it someday. I couldn't do it myself, so I entrusted it to H Securities. But as soon as I sold it, it suddenly went to 80,000 won, 90,000 won, and over 100,000 won," he confessed. "My country's KOSPI is 7800, but as it goes up, mine keeps going down. Why is that?" he asked.
In response, Johnny emphasized that "most investors are negative," and Park Jung-soo said, "It's comforting. I thought I was the only one," and Park breathed a sigh of relief.
Johnny then mentioned ETFs, a product that bundles several stocks together, and said, "The people who did ETFs had the best returns." Park then quipped, "Why don't I do ETFs now, let's be friends," which got a laugh.
As for why he failed in stock investing, Johnny said, "You should never try to time the price of a stock. The reason I invest in stocks is to invest in time," he explained. In response, Park Jung-soo said, "I had three to four years, and then I sold it with five million won left over, and then I made hundreds of millions," and Johnny said, "So you should have waited a little longer. You could have waited four years. But I didn't think about investing time. I was only thinking about getting the price right, buying it for $70,000 and selling it for $80,000, buying it for $80,000 and selling it for $100,000. That's the reason for investing in stocks."
