North Korean defector YouTuber Han Song-yi appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Noppakku Tak Jae-hun’ and stated that he would be executed by firing squad if he returned to North Korea. Han Song-yi explained that his return to North Korea is impossible because he has strongly criticized Kim Jong-un in South Korea.
During the broadcast, Han Song-yi revealed the reason he defected 13 years ago, which was influenced by the Korean Wave. Tak Jae-hun mentioned the possibility that high-ranking North Korean officials might watch YouTube, to which Han Song-yi responded wittily, even mentioning Tak Jae-hun’s former group, S.Papa.
Since defecting in 2014, Han Song-yi has continued his broadcasting activities, appearing on Channel A’s ‘I Am Going to Meet You Now’ and ‘Let’s Live Well.’ Currently, he is actively communicating with the public through his YouTube channel.
