In the drama, Kim Chang-wan had been confined and abused by Jo Mi-hyang, and his family was deeply shocked and enraged upon learning this fact belatedly.
Na Seon-hae broke down in tears upon confirming that Jo Mi-hyang had been abusing her husband, Gong Ki-cheol, while brothers Gong Jeong-eun and Gong Dae-han also shed tears out of guilt for failing to protect their father. As the police investigation closed in, Jo Mi-hyang attempted to flee, but Gong Ki-cheol made a dramatic escape and headed to the Onjeong Police Station.
Gong Jeong-eun and Gong Dae-han heard singing coming from the police station and instinctively knew their father was alive. The two were reunited with their father, Kim Chang-wan, after 30 long years, creating a deeply moving scene.
