Kim Soo-hyun returns after being cleared, stops social media in February 25..."I miss you" outpouring of support
The head of the Garosero Research Institute, Kim Seo-hyun, was detained on Nov. 26 for allegedly spreading falsehoods about Kim Soo-hyun. Judge Bu Dong-sik, chief judge of the Seoul Central District Court's warrant division, held a substantive examination of the arrest warrant (pre-arrest interrogation) for Kim, who was charged with violating the Special Act on Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (filming and dissemination using cameras, etc.) and defamation, intimidation, and attempted coercion under the Information and Communications Network Act, and issued an arrest warrant, saying, "There is a fear of destroying evidence and fleeing."
Even after the warrant review, Kim still denied the charges, saying he "does not admit to any of the charges."
His agency announced his return, saying, "We are deeply grateful to everyone who has believed in him and waited for him."
In the meantime, attention is also focused on Disney+'s "Knock Off," which will be Kim Soo Hyun's comeback movie. Knocked Off, which is said to have cost around 60 billion won to produce, follows the life of an ordinary office worker who becomes a tycoon in the counterfeit luxury goods market. It was originally scheduled to be released in 2025, but was put on hold due to the Kim Soo-hyun controversy.
Even after Kim's official statement, Disney+ said, "We have decided to put our release plans on hold," which is "no different from our previous position. There are no new updates."
Fans have been pouring in with support for Kim. Even though his personal account is still stuck at February 2025, the support continues to pour in. Just as his fans are eagerly awaiting his return, it will be interesting to see if he can get back to work soon.
