Eom Yong-su, "The late Se-won Seo, the president of the comedian's association, is not well-received. ... Have a warm funeral" (interview)
Comedian Eom Yong-su, chairman of the South Korea Broadcast Comedians Association, said he is preparing to play The Funeral of the late Se-won Seo. Eom Yong-su said in a telephone interview with the Hankyoreh on Aug. 28, "The association will solemnly hold The Funeral as the head of the comedians' association if a member's bereaved family wants it." Eom Yong-su said, "Se-won Seo cut himself off from comedy for a long time. He became a star by himself, so he didn't have to do comedy together. I am worried about that because of the nature of Pumasi. " He added, "I'm worried because I've been swept up in various incidents. We also had a lot of worries about what to do," he said. "We did not know exactly what time it was made up and exactly what time it came here." Recalling Se-won Seo, Eom Yong-su said, "We have a relationship. I used to share a comedian room and a program. I have been at home with Seo Jeong-hee since I lived with him. I can not say that I am sad and bitter. " "There was a great talent for pioneering comedy gags. We lived too steeply and quickly. In our comedy, there was a field called 'gag', which was an amateur level. But Se-won Seo came out and made a big contribution to gags. As a comedian, he was a good person. People have all kinds of merits and demerits. There was an error in the family history. But the ball should not be left unattended." Finally, he said, "I would like to have one more person (in The Funeral) to express my condolences for the deceased and to make the last way warm and solemn and warm with love and friendship." Se-won Seo Families said on the day that the funeral will be held at Asan Medical Center's The Funeral Chapter 20 as the head of the Korean Comedian Association. Born in 1956, Se-won Seo debuted in 1979 as a TBC radio gag contest. Since then, he has been active in MBC and has been very popular in programs such as 'Young Eleven', 'Youth March' and 'Sunday Sunday Night'. Se-won Seo's Star Date', which invites popular entertainers to show their gags, has also provided a bridgehead for the South Korea talk show. In 1988, he won the Grand Prize at the 24th Baeksang Arts Grand Prize for male TV entertainment, and in 1995, he won the Grand Prize at the KBS Comedy Grand Prize (current entertainment). In 1997, he received the Minister of Culture and Sports Award as a leading entertainer. In 1986, Se-won Seo, who made his debut in the film industry by directing the film "Nabja Lute", seemed to broaden his range of activities after he tasted the failure and succeeded in producing "Gangwon Wife" in 2001. However, he left the entertainment industry due to various controversies such as embezzlement of film production costs and overseas gambling. In 2014, he was charged with domestic violence by assaulting his wife, Seo Jeong-Hee. The release of CCTV (closed circuit) footage showing Se-won Seo assaulting Seo Jeong-hee also caused controversy; Se-won Seo was sentenced to six months in prison and two years of probation in 2015. After divorcing Seo Jeong-Hee, he remarried with a 23-year-old haegeum player and had an 8-year-old daughter. Photo=DB
