MBC's unique drama plan seems to have failed in the end, and after the ratings were cut in half, JTBC, which had suffered from sluggishness, was caught and humiliated.
According to Nielsen Korea, the MBC drama 'Tomorrow' 9th and 10th broadcasts on the 29th and 30th recorded low ratings of 2.9% and 2.5% respectively for nationwide households.
It was 0.7% p and 0.5% p lower than last week (3.6% gold and 3.0% soil), respectively, and it fell so much that it could not even compare with the first time (7.6%). In the seventh inning, which started in earnest, it showed a slight rebound, but the decline continues as the show continues.
The situation is not different from the Saturday drama 'From now on, Showtime!' Unlike the one-time 2% performance, the second time soared to 3%, and it was expected that it would show the same rise as 'Dae Intern', but the third time fell to 2% again. Fortunately, the fourth round rose to 3% again, but it was less than two times.
In the end, MBC was caught up in JTBC, which suffered from the continued slump, and the audience rating was reversed to 'My Liberation Diary', which is making buzzwords such as "I admire you". 'My Liberation Diary' is a new work by Park Hae-young, who wrote 'My Man from Nowhere' and 'Oh Hae Young', but he has not received much attention since the airing. As in 'My Man from Nowhere', a rather heavy and slow development was evaluated among viewers.
As if to disprove it, 'My Liberation Diary' did not escape the 2% audience rating even until the beginning. However, we have gradually secured a fixed audience by word of mouth, and now we have a stable 3% audience rating.
So why did MBC and JTBC turn 180 degrees back? The problem was that they did not understand the drama rather than the completion of the drama. MBC is currently showing two dramas in a row on Saturday, and the problems are diverse. The broadcast time of 'Showtime!' is different. In the aftermath of 20 minutes early so that it will not interfere with the "tomorrow" which was being broadcast in advance, Saturday is broadcasted at 8:40 pm, but one factor is meeting with viewers at 9 pm.
This is disadvantageous, even 'From now on, Showtime!' Is competing with entertainment programs such as 'Knowing Brother' and 'Amazing Saturday' every Saturday. Considering that families watch TV together in the early evening of the weekend, 'From now on, Showtime!' Is inevitable that the audience rating that plunges every Saturday is unfair.
As such, MBC has kicked off the opportunity given by the "Red End of Clothes Retail" in an absurd way, and it is like being tripped by a desire to continue the good atmosphere of the gilt. Even if the 16-part "Tomorrow" is adjusted after the end of the program, it still has three weeks left.
