Is it really over for Singer BOL4 Ahn Ji-young for a long, long winter?
An online media showcase commemorating the release of the BOL4 new mini album "Seoul" was broadcast live on Tuesday afternoon.
Shinbo 'Seoul' is a new album released in about six months after the single 'Butterfly Effect' released last October. It was only two years since he stopped working in 2020 that he appeared in public.
"The blank was quite long, it was very trembling, expectation and full of excitement," said Ahn Ji-young.
This new album contains the process of drawing and filling the color of the sketchbook from the dreaming When My Love Blooms to When My Love Blooms, who was no longer confident to fill in something. "It contained the Seoul of BOL4: passionate, loving, and feeling that hurt, I wanted to show you the Seoul of BOL4," he explained.
BOL4 has been working as a duo of Ahn Ji-young and Woo Ji-yoon, who have been dreaming together for more than 10 years since high school, but changed into a one-person system in 2020 when Woo Ji-yoon withdrew. The two men showed conflicts, such as shooting each other after Woo Ji-yoon's withdrawal, and eventually Ahn Ji-young stopped working with anxiety symptoms.
"My heart's winter was longer than spring, and after a while I started to write bright songs because I thought I wanted to feel warm spring with many people," said Ahn Ji-young.
The title song 'Seoul' is a medium tempo genre song. The cool sound created by the funky rhythm of electric guitar, including the introduction of flux synth and mute guitar, is impressive. I painted the day when I met again at the place where my dreams of loving each other's music still stayed, the Seoul I loved.
Ahn Ji-young said, "When I was 20 years old, I went to college at Seoul and majored in music. It was a song that I wrote, recalling our dreams that I painted at that time, the images that I loved each other's music. "
Meanwhile, BOL4's new mini album 'Seoul' will be released today at 6 pm on various online music sites.
