Tom Cruise's production cost of Mission Impossible 7 was 346.6 billion, "Five is Ethan Hunt's last journey."
The production cost of Mission Impossible 7, starring Tom Cruise, soared to 290 million Family Dollar (about 346.6 billion won), Variety reported on the 9th (local time).
Director Christopher Walken Macquarie filmed Tom Cruise driving a motorcycle off a cliff in Norway's high mountains. "This is the most dangerous thing I've ever tried," Tom Cruise admitted, "and I've wanted to do this since I was a kid."
Variety pointed out, "But realizing childhood dreams has proved costly, given other things such as these tricks."
“Paramount and Skydance Media have come to a huge budget and endless unforeseen cost stream,” he said. “The production cost of Mission: Impossible 7 is 290 million Family Dollar, which is tens of millions of dollars more than the production company and its financial partners plan.” The stunning production cost includes substantial tax benefits that global production could have utilized to curb costs. By contrast, the most recent film, Mission Impossible: Fallout, cost 190 million Family Dollar. A whopping 100 million Family Dollars have been put in.
Mission Impossible 7 was originally scheduled to start filming in Venice in February 2020, but it had to stop shooting seven times in the aftermath of Corona and start production.
Sources said the public health restrictions and additional viral outbreaks cost the crew and cast unexpectedly because they were long-term employed and isolated. There are also costs associated with the need to close streets and canals in major cities such as Rome and Venice.
Budget problems peaked last summer, according to Variety, with distributor Paramount taking on an overpriced cost of about 50 million Family Dollar on its own. The problem, according to two sources, is that co-creator Skydance has already exceeded the limit in terms of financial contributions. They refused to exceed the contractual terms of 240 million Family Dollar and paid additional funds that Tom Cruise and Christopher Walken Macquarie said were necessary for the film's completion.
It is unclear what the results will be in China. Mission Impossible: Fallout earned 180 million Family Dollars in China. But as tensions between the US and China escalated, it affected China's desire for Hollywood films, reducing revenue in major markets.
In particular, the interest cost of the entire movie was added while delaying the release several times.
Variety said, "The 7th and 8th will play a role as a farewell to Tom Cruise's heresy Hunt character." "The 8th will soon be produced in South Africa."
Mission Impossible 7 will be released on July 14, 2023, and Mission Impossible 8 will be released on June 28, 2024.
