Former World-leading foreign media also took notice at once when group BTS (BTS) won the grand prize at the American Airlines Music Awards, one of the United States of America's three major Musical awards.
BTS won three gold medals in the "2021 American Airlines Music Awards (AMA)" at the United States of America's Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on the morning of the 22nd (Korea time), winning the "The Artist of the Year" award, the first Asian singer to be awarded.
On this day, BTS was the first Asian singer to win the trophy, surpassing pop stars such as Ariana Grande, Drake and Olivia Rodrigo.
The United States of America Associated Press reported in an article entitled "Hitmaker BTS showed authority at the American Airlines Music Awards" that "Korea's Mario Star BTS defeated Taylor Swift, Drake, and The Weekend's challenge and became 'The Artist of the Year'."
"The most popular groups on the planet, BTS and Coldplay, have teamed up," he said of the joint performance of the World band Coldplay.
CNN called BTS a 'K-pop Mario group'. "BTS and Coldplay have raised the crowd at the American Airlines Music Awards," Amy (BTS fan) said. "There was a lot to celebrate today."
The British daily Independent also said that "BTS has won several awards and has dominated the night with live performances." Reuters reported that "BTS has become a winner in four years since entering the American Airlines Music Awards in 2017."
Meanwhile, BTS is also being nominated for "Record of the Year", one of the main awards of the United States of America's most prestigious Music Awards, the 64th Grammy Awards, following the American Airlines Music Awards.
If BTS receives an award in 'Grammy', it will win the United States of America's three major Music awards following 'Billboards Awards' and 'American Airlines Music Awards'.
