A comedian Wonhyo Kim Sim Jin-hwa was on fire amid a mass food poisoning at a Gimbap franchise store.
According to the 5th, there was a mass food poisoning at two Gimbap brand branches in Bundang-gu. From 29th to 5th of last month, 199 customers who bought food at the branch showed symptoms of food poisoning such as abdominal pain, high fever and diarrhea.
Salmonella was detected in some patients while the Gyeonggi Provincial Food and Drug Administration was investigating the exact cause. So, Seongnam stopped operating at two branches.
The Gimbap brand posted an apology on its official website. "We are bowing to the fact that we have suffered too much pain and damage to food poisoning in Bundang area," the company said. "We are sorry for those who are being treated with Gimbap and those who have suffered unexpected life damage."
"I will take the disposition as soon as the result comes out," he added. "It is true that I am afraid, but I will not avoid or hide."
The firestorm splashed on the Wonhyo Kim Sim Jin-hwa couple, whose news was that they were operating more than a dozen stores on the brand. Some netizens questioned whether the food poisoning was related to the couple, but the point where the couple is operating is not related to the incident.
