The word that came up after watching SBS drama <Penthouse> 1 ~ 2 was 'waste of radio waves'. With the drama's ratings competition fierce, not only terrestrial but also general, cable, and OTT, high ratings may seem like everything in the drama. In addition, Penthouse was the best honor student in terms of ratings through Season 1 and Season 2.
But as if studying was not the best talent, Penthouse was a drama that was a lot of surprise to praise. There was a wit to use many parodys skillfully, even a parody of the materialism of Korea itself. Acting, which crosses the tragedy and comedy of the main actors as well as absurdity, played an important role in the popularity of the drama.
But Penthouse feels funny just like seeing a good-looking cuning paper. Maybe it’s just natural. In Season 2, <Penthouse> has already lost the power of 'Mad Rose', which runs unique to Season 1.
Season 2 was actually just a variation of Season 1, and some people benefited from it. There were many changes, such as the fact that Jenny Kim's mother Kang Ma-ri, who was Acted by Eun-Kyung Shin, learned of the bullying of Yu Jenny Kim (Jin Ji-hee) in the middle and revealed the secrets of the priest. For this reason, Eun-Kyung Shin's unique life struggle Acting has also shined. On the other hand, Joo Seok-kyung (Han Ji-hyun), the villain of Season 1, showed more than a villain character to viewers due to the change of characters crossing Joe and Wool in episode 2. Lee Ji-ah, who played Naae in Season 2, was a poorly fit act and was more light than Season 1.
The very beginning of Penthouse is about to continue its popularity with another twist, but the method is already so stinky and too much force. Once the prison scene that went in to reverse the end of Season 2 was just a plain comedy in itself. The scene that shows the lives of the characters who have changed their status through the prison is already a strange material. So the most interesting and fresh scene in the first prison was one scene where Chun Seo-jin (Kim So-yeon) shouted "Kim" to Oh Yoon-hee (Yujin) in charge of food distribution. Of course, Penthouse re-released and finished the characters in a ridiculous way that they did not intend to drag the prison scene, which lacked ideas.
Later, Logan Lee's appearance of his own brother ALEKS Corporation (Park Eun-seok) made him lose his words. I’ve been tattooing and reggae-hairing all over my body, but Logan Lee’s recycling is not at all ingenious, and I just wonder why, what, I should have done it. Of course, Lee Ji-ah, who lost his score to Nae-ae as viewers admired, earned the reputation of Acting God again with a serious expression act in front of ALEKS Corporation. Unfortunately, the season 3 Shim Soo-ryun turned into a character mixed with the character of Lee Ji-ah, and the character itself lost its charm.
Maybe Penthouse has set a strategy to hit and miss quickly because it will guarantee a certain audience rating of Season 3 with the first and second seasons of the season. I ate enough to eat the provocative parts anyway, so I might have felt that I should finish well. In addition to the advent of ALEKS Corporation, Penthouse is embarrassing because it is not sloppy in many parts. Starting with the sudden appearance of the scene where Chun Seo-jin, Oh Yoon-hee and Shim Soo-ryun hold hands, so does the resurrection of Ju Dan-tae (Um Ki-jun). Is it possible that the web novel instructor will be angry if the student organizes the case in this way?
The last season remains addictive, but there is no dynamism of stories like Season 1, scenes that sometimes look cute in the crooks, and a villainous spirit that parodies the Korean society of capital. The fun of character change that I felt in the variation of Season 2 has disappeared, and I feel like waiting for the end of the funny story of the Film-cut "brainbone" in the Drink that lasted until the third.
