Singer Lai Kuan-lin (20 and Taiwan), a former member of the group Wanna One, won a civil lawsuit against his agency Cube Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as Cube) to confirm the absence of an Exclusive contract.
The 48th Civil Settlement of the Seoul Central District Court (chief judge Lee Ki-sun) ruled on the 17th that Lai Kuan-lin won the plaintiffs' lawsuit against Cube Entertainment for confirming the existence of the Exclusive contract.
The court ruled that the plaintiff did not have the effect of the Exclusive contract concluded between the plaintiff and the defendant. The court ruled invalid for the Exclusive contract Lai Kuan-lin signed with Cube.
Lai Kuan-lin's deputy is said to have claimed that Cube signed an Exclusive contract with Lai Kuan-lin in July 2017 and transferred exclusive management authority within China to third party, ostrich Entertainment, in January 2018.
However, Lai Kuan-lin and his parents did not hear any explanation from Cube, and they did not know about it until April when they started their activities in earnest after Wanna One activity in January of this year.
In response, Cube said that there is no reason for termination of the contract with Lai Kuan-lin, and that Lai Kuan-lin has been in charge of management work and explained to the parties and agreed to proceed with all the schedules and contracts.
Lai Kuan-lin, a Taiwanese native, made his debut as a Wanna One member formed through Mnet 'Produce 101' season two in 2017. After the team was dissolved in January 2019, they were active in Korea and China.
In particular, he has expanded his career as an actor in China as well as performing arts as well as drama "Schoon Na Gun Sosa" ().
As he is now out of Cube's hands, it is time to completely exclude Korea and watch whether he will only work for China.
