The fact that singer Kim Heung-Gook, 62, was investigated by police on Sony charges is known late and controversial.
Seoul Yongsan Police Station said on June 6 that Kim Heung-Gook is investigating nondetention arrest on charges of escape under the Act on the Punishment of Specific Crimes.
According to the police, Kim Heung-Gook is accused of driving an SUV on the 24th of last month and leaving the accident without fixing the accident after he hit a motorcycle driver while driving an illegal left turn at a stop signal.
"The motorcycle driver is being treated at the hospital with an injury of three weeks in front of him," he added. "But (Kim Heung-Gook) did not drive drunk."
Kim Heung-Gook also insisted that the accident was not a Hit-and-run. Kim Heung-Gook's The Inner Circle said in an interview with the sports trend that "Kim Heung-Gook was going to exercise on the day of the accident and was waiting in the unprotected left turn zone," he said.
The Inner Circle explained why Kim Heung-Gook left the scene without fixing the accident, saying, "The motorcycle could not leave the scene immediately and take any action."
"I have forgotten the case since then, but the police have been contacted and investigated. The insurance company is also conducting an investigation," he denied the Hit-and-run allegations.
The police will investigate the details of the incident based on the statements of both sides. No additional summons for Kim Heung-Gook has been set.
