According to the investment banking industry on the 17th, Hong Kong-based private equity fund (PEF) anchor private equity (PE) recently invested 209.8 billion won in entertainment agency and content production company Kakao M. Anchor PE has invested more than 1.6 trillion won in Kakao M and acquired new shares at 182,771 won per share.
The price of the new shares of the anchor PE is 48.9% higher than the price of the new shares, which is 122,695 won per share in two Paid-in last year. Paid-in participants earned nearly 50% of their principal in less than a year.
The industry expects that their valuation gains will likely grow over time, and PEFs will invest in companies that are usually considered to have the potential to earn an average annual return of more than 20%. Analysts say that if Kakao M pushes for IPO, it may raise corporate value further.
