The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold '2019 Korea Tourism Star Awards Ceremony' with Korea Tourism Organization at the Shilla Hotel Guest House in Seoul on the afternoon of the 10th.
The 'Korea Tourism Star' has been selected since 2010 to discover and promote excellent tourism resources that have contributed to the development of Korea tourism during the year. This year, we reorganized into a prize and a special prize system instead of the existing field and sectoral awards, and selected seven tourism resources.
The main awards were selected as: Nakan-eupseong (South Jeolla Province Suncheon City), Taehwa River National Garden (Ulsan Jung-gu), Mancheonha Skywalk Theme Park (Danyang County, Chungbuk), and Jeongnamjin Pyeonbaek Forest Woodland (South Jeolla Province Jangheung County).
Nakan-eupseong, Suncheon, is the planned city of the Joseon Dynasty, and it is the first place in Korea where the castle and village were designated as private sites (No. 302). It has been recognized that the castle, Dongheon, guest house, marketplace, and Choga are well preserved in their original form and preserve the original charm of cultural heritage.
The Ulsan Taehwa River National Garden was created in 2004-2010 by restoring the Taehwa River, which was heavily polluted in the early 2000s, and returning 186,000 square meters of land to be developed as a residential area. It was designated as the second national garden in July this year in recognition of its value linking natural resources and gardens. It was evaluated as creating new charm by using location constraints as a reverse.
The Danyang Mancheon Skywalk consists of a glass bridge and observatory overlooking the South Han River, a straw wire flying from 120m to 980m from the iron wire, a monorail alpine coaster crossing the remote forest road at a maximum speed of 40km per hour, and a Danyang River cliff walking along the southern River cliff. Since its opening in 2017, it has won the award for its position as a local Gwangkwan attraction, with 2 million visitors.
Jangheung Jeongnamjin Pyeonbaek Forest Woodland is located in a white-green forest over 40 years old, with 100ha of Mt. Eungbul Mountain. It is famous for its gentle slope 'Malegil', which is built between dense white trees to the top of the mountain. It was evaluated as a tourism resource that made efforts for the weak, such as allowing them to experience woodworking while in wheelchairs.
In addition, ▲ Jeju Island Seogwipo City ▲ Welcome, First Time in Korea? ~ Korea is It's the first time? (MBC every1) ▲ EXO (EXO) was selected as the special prize winner.
Jeju Island Light Bunker is a place where the space used as a national infrastructure communication facility was reborn as an immersive media art exhibition hall. The works of world-renowned masters such as Gustav Klimt and Vincent Van Gogh have been restructured into dozens of projectors and speakers. It is included in that it is a new tourism resource that is expected to grow in the future due to its high potential.
Also, 'Welcome, First Time in Korea? ~ Korea is It's the first time.? 'Was selected as a broadcasting program that contributed to the revitalization of Korea tourism by informing the charm of Korea through the travels of foreigners who first visited Korea.
EXO (EXO) has been recognized for its contribution to the revitalization of Korean tourism through popular culture, including its contribution to attracting foreign tourists by participating as an honorary ambassador for Korea tourism.
Park Yang-woo, Minister of Culture and Tourism, said, "I am grateful to all the winners who have worked hard to develop tourism in Korea." As a representative of Korea tourism, I would like to ask you to become a bright star that will lead the future of tourism in Korea. "
