Two netizens who wrote malicious comments and circulated rumors about actor Song Hye-kyo were handed over to the prosecution.
According to Yonhap News, the Bundang Police Station in Gyeonggi Province sent netizen A and B to the prosecution on charges of defamation and insult under the Information and Communication Network Act.
The two are accused of leaving false facts and flaming online in June, when Song Hye-kyo was informed that he was going to divorce actor Song Jung-ki.
A was accused of defaming Song Hye-kyo by posting a post on his blog saying, "China's big sponsor is a decisive divorce."
Mr. B is accused of insulting Song Hye-kyo by commenting on the Internet articles that reported the couple's breakdown at similar times, such as "man-eating ghosts" and "beautiful, like XXX..."
Song Hye-kyo sued in July for specifying 15 Internet IDs that posted malicious comments and rumors against him, including them. According to the police, 13 of them were not traced, including the one that appeared to have withdrawn from the site.
Two netizens who wrote rumors about the song hye-kyo with flaming are sent to the prosecution.
