Police in Bundang, Gyeonggi Province, sent a prosecutor's office on April 15 to the prosecution by applying prosecution opinions on charges of defamation and insult under the Information and Communication Network Act.
According to the police, A is accused of defaming Song Hye-kyo by posting a message on his blog in June, when Song Hye-kyo was known to be in divorce with actor Song Jung-ki, saying, "China's big sponsor is a decisive reason for divorce."
Mr. B is accused of insulting Song Hye-kyo by posting malicious comments on an online article that reported the breakup of Song Hye-kyo and Song Jung-ki at a similar time.
Song Hye-kyo has identified 15 Internet IDs that posted malicious comments and rumors against him and sued police in July. “We have filed a complaint against the majority of the disseminations who have completed the collection of evidence for malicious acts, clear dissemination of false facts, malicious blatant slander and abusive language, on charges of defamation and insult,” said Song Hye-kyo’s agency UAA, which said in an official position, “as soon as evidence is available for the rest of the community, comments, and YouTubers, we will proceed with criminal charges against all of them.”
