On the 17th (Today), Japan Oricon chart reported on its official website that "BTS' new album MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA ranked # 1 in the digital album rankings of April 22, the first week of sale in Japan."
“This album topped the charts, and it became the fourth highest in the history of digital album charts, following LOVE YOURSELF’s ‘Answer’, which was ranked number one in the digital album rankings on September 17 last year,” said Japan Oricon charts.
Earlier on the 15th (local time), United States of America Billboards and the British Official Chart reported a series of articles that BTS will be ranked #1 on the Billboards 200 and Official Albums Charts by the new album MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA, which was released simultaneously on the 12th of last month.
United States of America Billboards said, "If this album reaches the top, BTS will be the third to be ranked first after LOVE YOURSELF 'Tear' and LOVE YOURSELF 'Answer'."
In addition, the British official chart reported that "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA's album sales have already exceeded the sum of the first week's sales of the last three albums, including LOVE YOURSELF 'Tear', which entered the top 10 last year.
This makes BTS a new history as a global artist, taking the top of the album charts leading the former World major music market, not only in United States of America and the UK but also in Japan.
