Group BTS' regular 3rd album won the top of the Billboards main album chart.
On the latest chart released by Billboards today (27 days local time in America), BTS' regular third album, "Love Yourself Former Tier" (LOVE YOURSELF Tear), reached #1 on the "Billboards 200".
'Billboards 200' ranks the most popular albums in United States of America every week, combining album sales, track sales, and streaming performance. This is the first time that a Korean singer has topped this chart.
It is only 12 years since the album in foreign languages not English came to the top of 'Billboards 200'.
In 2006, the male four-member popper group Il Divo once topped the chart with the album "Ancora" (also called "Ancora"), which was sung in Spanish, Italian, and French.
It is also the first time BTS has recorded the album of the Grammy Award for Best World Music Album genre in the "Billboards 200" number one.
Billboards classifies all music originating outside the United States of America, including Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and the Middle East, as 'World Music', so k pop is also classified as World Music.
