Song Joong-ki Song Hye-kyo's breakup news reportedly canceled the Taebaek Couple Festival, which was scheduled for this year by Gangwon Taebaek city.
“The Taebaek Couple Festival was canceled this year,” Sports Today quoted a Taebaek city official as saying, “but whether the festival will remain in existence will continue to be discussed.”
The Taebaek Couple Festival, which started in May 2017, is famous for its statue that follows the kiss scene of Song Song Couple, who appeared in the drama The Sun's Descendants. The festival site was decorated with a couple statue of Song Joong-ki Song Hye-kyo, Song Joong-ki military sculptures, and large photographs of two people, as Taebaek city restored the set of 'Dawn of the Sun' in August 2016.
More than 10,000 tourists visited the festival, which was first held in 2017, for three days. Taibaek city was scheduled to hold three festivals from July 27 this year and was promoting a total of 27 billion won in tourism projects based on related events.
However, as the news of the divorce of the two was reported, the city seems to have decided that it is difficult to hold the festival. In addition, Taebaek city is expected to review whether the statue of Kissin in the park will be demolished.
