The group BTS set the record for best Korean singers at Sportify, World's largest music streaming company.
According to the latest chart released by Sporty Pie on the 14th (April 13), BTS' new album MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA's title song, "The Poetry for Small Things (Boy With Luv) feat. Halsey ranked third in the Global Top 200.
This is the highest official record of Korean singers, ranking one step from the fourth place recorded on the April 12 chart.
The album's songs also reached the official record of the first two consecutive days of Korean singers, following the first day of the album, with the album being ranked 22nd in Mikrokosmos, 26th in Make It Right, 28th in HOME, 36th in Dionysus, 39th in Jamais Vu, and 50th in Intro: Persona.
In particular, BTS ranked 4th, the highest record of Korean singers on the first day of the release, and 5th on the second day, respectively, in the top 200 of the US Sporty Pie, and climbed to the top 5 for the second consecutive day. The US Sporty Pie ranking is the main barometer on the Billboardss chart. According to Billboardss, the Billboardss charts will add more weight to pay subscription services such as Sporty Pie and Apple Music and play on platform streaming from 2018.
In addition, local media such as Billboardss, Forbes, and Headline Planet of United States of America reported articles on April 12 and 13 (local time) that focused on the Sporty record of BTS. According to the article, “BTS has been the first Asian singer to break 5 billion streaming on Sporty Pie, once again proving that they are in their own league.”
BTS will unveil its first Poetry With Luv stage in World on NBC's SNL on the 13th, followed by its first Worldwide collaboration with World-renowned singer Halsey at the 2019 Billboardss Music Awards on May 1.
