group BTS continues to write new records as it tops Japan's major music charts following United States of America and the UK.
On the 17th, Japan Oricon chart reported on its official website that "BTS' new album 'Map City of London the Soul: Persona' (MAP OF THE Soul: Persona) ranked # 1 in the digital album rankings on April 22, the first week of sales in Japan."
“This album topped the charts and ranked #1 on the digital albums on September 17 last year, ranking #4 in the charts, following Love Yourself Reason Answer (LOVE YOURSELF Answer), which was the fourth highest in the charts, making it the number one record in the digital album charts ever,” said Japan Oricon.
Earlier on the 15th (local time), United States of America Billboards and the British Official Chart reported that the new album, Map City of London the Soul: Persona, released simultaneously by BTS around the world on the 12th, will be ranked #1 on the Billboards 200 and the Official Albums Chart.
“When this album reaches number one, BTS will be the third to rank number one after Love Yourself former Tier (LOVE YOURSELF Tear) and Love Yourself Resolution Anser,” United States of America Billboards said.
The British official chart reported that "the album sales of 'Map City of London the Soul: Persona' has already exceeded the sum of the first week sales of the last three albums, including 'Love Your Self', which entered the top 10 last year, and BTS has written the history of the British official charts."
