While SBS Running Man is steadily gaining popularity overseas, the first official overseas fan meeting Asia tour in the new year will begin in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Fan Meeting Event, which will be attended by all members following last year's Taiwan Fan Meeting, will be held at Hong Kong Asia World Expo Arena (hereinafter referred to as Hong Kong Arena) on February 2.
Yoo Jae-Suk left many regrets at the Hong Kong Event in 2017, but this year, Yoo Jae-Suk will attend, as well as new members Jeon So-min and Yang Se-chan will join and meet with fans from China.
“Unlike Korean Wave actors and singers, fans who visit Running Man Fan Meetings have a wide range of age groups and a significant family participation,” said Lee Dong-hwa, CEO of Wyeth Global Entertainment, an Asian tour organizer of Running Man Fan Meeting.
“Although it is rare for major members of the Korean entertainment program to hold overseas fan meetings, Hong Kong Arena, the Hong Kong venue, is the largest venue in Hong Kong that accommodates more than 10,000 people, proving the popularity of Running Man locally,” a SBS official said of the Running Man fan meeting.
Running Man's overseas fan meeting plans to continue its Asian tour to Southeast Asia, where Running Man is gaining huge popularity starting this year in Hong Kong.
