Pop star Kelly Clarkson Clarkson, who came out with a big ear plug, introduced BTS as "World's Best Boy group".
"I wrote an ear plug for your cheers: Are you all excited? BTS fans gathered all over World for this performance today."
BTS was the first Asian singer to show the stage at the Billboard Awards.
BTS, which was the 15th of the total 16 performances, led to an explosive response with its unique intense performance.
Although the new song was released only three days after it was released, the audience was enthusiastic about the chorus 'Techang'.

BTS was also honored as the first Korean singer to receive the 'Top Social The Artist' award for the second consecutive year.
"The fans said our music changed our lives, but I realized how powerful it is to be a word that is moved through SNS: Ami (fan club name), thank you."
The award for the Awards' best honor, the Top The Artist, went to Ed Sheeran.
This year, Billboard was the stage that confirmed the strength of female singers.
Janet Jackson, 52, appeared in the official statue in nine years and showed off her strength, and female singers such as Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera received a big applause for their joint stage with their juniors.
Kelly Clarkson Clarkson, who hosts the Awards, also took time to commemorate the victims of the recent Texas high school shooting.
